Juan Foxley, formerly head of the Foreign Reserves
and Capital Account Division at Banco Central de Chile, is an expert economist
in banking, financial risk and portfolio management.
He is financial consultant for several private companies
and supranational organizations. The US Fund PIMCO, the IMF, the World
Bank, the IDB and ECLAC have been among his clients.
With the IMF he has joined several multinational
technical assistance teams in risk management. He has worked with the
central banks of Guyana, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Yemen,
Israel-WBGS and Iran.
Mr. Foxley is member of the board at the IDB-FOMIN-ALIDE
Program for Best Practices Development Banks. His consultancy expertise in
banking supervision, SME and Micro-finance in Latin-America has been shared
by Corporación Financiera Nacional del Ecuador, Nacional Financiera in
Mexico, BNDES in Brasil, Banco Central and FONAVI in Honduras and Banco
Nacional de Panama.
His corporate finance experience includes appointments
to several company boards and executive positions. In Chile, Foxley has
worked with DERCO-SODIMAC, Compañía Chilena de Inversiones, COTRISA
(Chairman of the Board) and CORFO (CFO). At present, he sits on the board
of Puerto Valparaíso where he joins the Technical Committee for Concession
and Privatizations.
He earned his Masters in Econometrics and Finance from
University of Pennsylvania and Wharton School, has been Researcher and
Assistant Professor at Universidad de Chile and Universidad Católica de
Valparaíso.
